Berberis thunbergii Golden Rocket is a very low-maintenance, easy to grow deciduous barberries. It has a neat, upright habit, and can slowly reach heights of about 1.5m, with a max width of 1m. A good shrub for year-round interest, it produces bright butter-yellow leaves, which contrast with small, red-tinted, pale-yellow flowers in mid-spring. In autumn the leaves turn vibrant colours of oranges to reds before falling for the winter. Straggly stems can be pruned in autumn. Ideal for a low hedge.
