Description
Betula nigra is a bushy deciduous tree that can grow up to 15 metres or more, with a distinctive peeling bark. The bark is at first reddish-brown and later turns almost black as it ages. Glossy dark green leaves turn yellow in autumn providing wonderful autumnal colour.
