Description
Pinus nigra, also known as European Black Pine, is a relatively fast-growing conifer species that is native across most of Europe. Its stiff long needles occur in pairs along its dense branches, and the bark is rough in texture and dark grey-brown in colour. It is a very hardy conifer, ideal for use as windbreaks and is tolerant of coastal and exposed environments. It can reach an approximate height of 25-30m over time.
