Description

Prunus ‘Kiku-shidare-zakura’, also known as ‘Cheals Weeping’, is a small deciduous tree, the branches arching from the trunk in a weeping form. Leaves bronze when young, later glossy green. Flowers occur in late spring and are fully double, rich pink in colour, and can measure up to 3.5cm wide. Similar to other Cherry Blossom varieties, it will also put on a later display of autumn colours, with the leaves turning shades of yellow, orange and sometimes red, before it goes into winter dormancy.
