Description
More elegant though not quite the same growth rate or as dense as the common laurel, this Portuguese laurel has been grown as a three quarter standard with an 120cm stem and with dark green, lustrous elegant leaves in a 1metres high head. There are white flowers in slender upright racemes in early summer but it is primarily grown for its strong shape. There are dark purple-black fruits in autumn.
