Description
Sorbus intermedia (Sweedish Whitebeam) is a medium size deciduous tree adorned with a broad, dense canopy of broadly oval, deeply lobed dark green leaves covered with grey hairs on the underside, giving the tree a silvery appearance. In late spring a profusion of creamy white tiny flowers held in flat-topped clusters are produced. They are quickly followed by abundant clusters of bright red berries in late summer. A good option for wildlife in the garden, the birds will love these berries and the bees and butterflies love the pollen.
