Apple & Pear Tart
Whilst there was not the abundance of fruit this 2023 Autumn, it was the sunniest June in a while which ensured young apples got the sunshine hours they needed to develop the full potential of their taste and flavour. In particular, the sunshine helped to build up the delicious natural sugars in this seasons crop. And if like me you have been looking at how to store your newly harvested fruit then here are a few ideas that we have gathered along the way.
Crabapple
The wonderful world of Crab Apples...unveiling the differences. Crab apples, members of the Malus genus, are a remarkable and diverse group of ornamental and fruit-bearing trees. Often overshadowed by their larger apple cousins, these petite treasures deserve their time in the spotlight.
Fruit trees
Fruit trees crop late in the season, from September to October, and you can store the fruit if you do it right until around Christmas to January, although eating apples and pears within the first week or two fresh from the tree is always the best, crispest fruit.
