Description
Acer freemanii Armstrong is a variety of Freeman Maple with a dense, tall, columnar crown. In spring, small reddish flowers are produced on bare branches, before the mid-green leaves form a lush crown of foliage over the summer. In autumn, it puts on a stunningly vibrant display of oranges and reds as the leaves start to change before going dormant for the winter. Its narrow, upright habit makes it the perfect tree for uniform planting along avenues, or for areas in the garden where space is more restricted. Maximum height 12-15m with a spread ranging from 5-8m.
