Description
Ginkgo biloba Mariken is a broadleaf, deciduous tree., very similar to the well-known Biloba but a little more dense and compact. While it loses its leaves in winter, it is classified as coniferous. Its uniquely fan-shaped leaves start out green but change to golden-yellow in autumn. Before the whole leaf turns golden, there is sometimes a stage during which the leaf is two-toned, with separate bands of gold and green.
This compact tree comes in a 1/4 standard form, with a short stem of about 50cm and a rounded head 40-50cm in size. It is perfect for pots and planters, and can also be planted out in flower beds, borders and rockeries with other low-level planting.
