Description
Hamamelis ‘Westerstede’ produces bright yellow flowers in late winter, usually starting in mid-January. The delicate, crinkled ribbon-like flowers have a beautifully sweet fragrance, and are visible on the bare branches long before the leaves start to emerge. In late-spring, leaves start to emerge that are forrest-green in colour. Later, the foliage will put on an autumn display of yellow, orange, and sometimes red, before they fall for the winter months. It is a lovely compact tree/large shrub, with an ultimate height and spread of about 3m. Perfect for any position in the garden in full sun or dappled shade, and can also be easily grown in a decorative pot.
