Description
Blue Princess is probably the most popular female variety of blue hollies. It has tough, glossy blue-green leaves that are prickly to touch. It flowers abundantly in early summer and fruits are born in the autumn. They are bright red, shiny berries that remain on the plant until early to mid spring. Its dense, upright habit makes it the perfect hedging option. This is a female variety that will need to be planted near a male holly, such as Ilex Blue Prince, in order to fruit well.
