Description
This Portuguese laurel has been grown as a half – standard with a 90 – 100cm stem and with dark green, lustrous elegant leaves in a slightly rounded almost conical shaped head. There are white flowers in slender upright racemes in early summer but it is primarily grown for its strong shape. Dark purple-black fruits in autumn, this half standard is a lovely tidy shape and are ideal for framing an area or either side of a front entrance or door, try planting two leading down steps or onto a lawn.
