Description
Salix cinerea, or Grey Willow, is a deciduous damp woodland tree native to Ireland, that produces fluffy catkins in spring that are very attractive to bees and other early pollinators. Here we have a 3 year old miniature bonsai specimen that has been grown and shaped by Andrii, who has been with us here at Caragh Nurseries for the past 2 years. This Salix has a strong, mature trunk for its age, and is presented in this clean white glazed pot with a simple grit finish. The side shoots have been pruned to give this neat, compact, yet open structure, which contrasts the wild and wispy habit usually found on this Willow when found growing naturally.
