Description
The Parrotia persica ‘Persian Spire’ is a much sought after ornamental tree prized for its stunning crimson red blooms which appear in early Spring and its Autumn colour display of red, burgundy orange and yellow. The bark or the Parrotia is also of interest, exfoliating to show shades of grey and reddish brown underneath. A small to medium sized tree which is 6-8 meters at maturity and with year round interest, it makes a perfect specimen tree.
Best located in full sun, however will also tolerate partial shade in neutral to acidic moist well drained soil.
