Description
Rhododendron ‘Baden-Baden’ is a compact, spreading form of Rhododendron that is perfect for low-medium level planting in borders, rockeries, or for keeping in pots. In spring, it produced masses of deep red trumpet-like flowers that are great magnets for bumblebees and other pollinators. The dark, tough evergreen leaves are slightly twisted in their shape, which makes this variety a bit quirky and different to other Rhododendron types. It grows slowly to a height of about 90cm, with an eventual wider spread of up to 1.2-1.5m. It requires acidic soil, and so should be planted in ericaceous compost. It will be best grown in partial shade or full sun.
