Description
Sequoiadendron giganteum, commonly known as Giant Redwood, is a very large, evergreen conifer famously seen in the forests in California and Oregon. Over time it can reach enormous sizes of 30-50m, and develops a large, thick trunk with attractive reddish-brown bark. It has a conical habit when young, but as it matures the branching becomes more spaced out and downswept. The attractive blue-green needles are evergreen and so provide year-round interest.
