Description
Prunus avium, our beautiful native Wild Cherry tree. White cherry blossom covers the tree in April-May; it’s a beautiful sight and favoured by pollinating insects. Small red cherries follow, which are popular with several species of bird and mammal. Serrated green leaves turn orange and red in autumn. Smooth grey bark turns shades of mahogany red and peels in maturity.
These are beautiful specimen multistems to show off the beautiful shape and foliage and gives the tree a very dramatic form, currently at 200-250cm but will grow up to approx 4.5metres tall . A very beautiful native tree that is a wonderful habitat for wildlife.
